Victory & score
The game always ends at turn 500, in 2459. Before that, there are two ways to win outright.
The Sun Ring
Complete every segment of a ring around the star. It is the longest project in the game, built in steps:
- Reach the star's Deep Space orbitResearch Deep-Space Craft.
- Supply Dark MatterResearch Dark Matter Theory and build Deep-space collector.
- Lay the FoundationResearch Graviton Engineering and build Dyson Scaffold.
- Build one arc from each yard worldResearch Stellar Engineering and build Ringworks yard.
- Close an arc and receive its beamResearch Field Manipulation and build Field anchor.
- Cut each arc from 8 turns to 6 (optional)Research Ring Assembly and build Stellar Foundry.
Expansion
Control at least the set share of the system's landable bodies for 10 consecutive turns. The default is 90%, and you can set anything from 50% to 100% when you create the game. Gas giants don't count. You can get there by conquest, or by diplomacy: vassals and members of a federation you lead count at a reduced weight.
Score
If nobody has won by turn 500, the highest score wins. Difficulty scales the final score.
| Component | How it counts |
|---|---|
| Population | 4 per head |
| Techs | 12 per completion |
| Cities | by tier |
| Bodies | 60 held, 20 vassal-held |
| Wonders | 80 each |
| Military | hull cost / 40 |
| Sun Ring | 60 foundation, 120 per arc |
| Diplomatic | 50 vassal, 20 federate, 5 friend |
Defeat
You are defeated when you hold no city and no unit able to found one, or when another player wins.
